Es Portal specializes in rice varieties grown in Pals by Arròs de l’Estany de Pals, fish from the best markets of the Costa Brava and local meat and other quality products. The updated empordà cuisine by chef Juan Carlos Sánchez, is complemented by a careful selection of wines from DO Empordà and other first-rate wine regions.

The chef, Joan Carles Sánchez and his team base the cuisine offered at Es Portal Restaurant on maximum quality local products from very carefully selected producers. Empordà region market cuisine, which has been updated, based on locally grown products, treated with great delicacy and knowledge, with just the right touch of innovation and creativity.
You can choose from the offer on our à la carte menu or from our selection of menus: the tasting menu or proposals for groups.
Leading our list are the Empordà wines, but you will also find wines from regions like Priorat, Montsant, Penedès, Rueda, Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Toro and Burgundy and Côtes de Provence.
The sommelier and ward staff will advise you on the best food and wine pairings to enjoy all the fullness of its aromas and flavors.
In addition to wine, we have a selection of crafted catalan beers, snacks and a selection of spirits such as whiskey, cognac, armagnac, brandy and rum, not to mention gins, presented in an irresistible menu of gin and tonics.
