The chef, Joan Carles Sánchez and his team base the cuisine offered at Es Portal Restaurant on maximum quality local products from very carefully selected producers. Empordà region market cuisine, which has been updated, based on locally grown products, treated with great delicacy and knowledge, with just the right touch of innovation and creativity.
You can choose from the offer on our à la carte menu or from our selection of menus: the menu of the day, the weekend menu, the tasting menu or proposals for groups.

Es Portal Restaurant is part of the Empordà gastronomic group known as the Cuina de l’Empordanet, the objective of which is to promote the gourmet quality of the territory and to identify the Empordà region as a first-class gastronomic destination.
Our meals are prepared with natural products from local producers, many of them included in the quality list Products from the Earth, such as Pals’ rice or anchovies from L’Escala -or protected by the mark of quality Fish from the Coast, angules (eel-like) from Baix Ter, in season only, or guaranteed Palamos’ Prawns. We also use guaranteed products under the the Protected Denomination Origin – Empordà’s olive oil, Protected Geographical Indication –such as Girona’s apple or Valls ‘calçots’ and quality wines from Empordà DO, DOC Priorat, Penedès, Montsant, among others.
