What to visit in Pals, Costa Brava
The weekly fruit and vegetable markets that are held in the main towns in the region such as Palafrugell, La Bisbal d’Empordà and Torroella de Montgrí, are an attraction in the area as they allow you to purchase products directly from local farmers.
La Bisbal de l'Empordà is one of the most important ceramic centres in Catalonia. So much so, that the brand 'Cerámica de la Bisbal' has become a hallmark of quality and authenticity.
The influence of this discipline is such in this municipality, that you can perceive it walking through its streets and looking at its urban landscape, characterized by the multitude of shops dedicated to ceramics and by the silhouette of the chimneys of old factories that you will find scattered around the town.

In the Empordà you can buy artisan products from this area, especially wines made in different wineries with the Empordà Denomination of Origin, Rice from Pals, artisan products from butchery and charcuterie, cheese, cottage cheese, honey and pastry, jams and preserves. The offer of fairs where you can find this type of products in the different municipalities of the environment is equally varied.

If you want to go shopping in a more urban environment you must go yes or yes to Playa de Aro, the largest shopping center in the area, open every day of the year.
But you will also find small shopping centers in other municipalities near Es Portal Hotel Gastronòmic, such as: Palamós, Palafrugell or Torroella de Montgrí.
