The weekly fruit and vegetable markets that are held in the main towns in the region such as Palafrugell, La Bisbal d’Empordà and Torroella de Montgrí, are an attraction in the area as they allow you to purchase products directly from local farmers.
La Bisbal de l'Empordà is one of the most important ceramic centres in Catalonia. So much so, that the brand 'Cerámica de la Bisbal' has become a hallmark of quality and authenticity.
The influence of this discipline is such in this municipality, that you can perceive it walking through its streets and looking at its urban landscape, characterized by the multitude of shops dedicated to ceramics and by the silhouette of the chimneys of old factories that you will find scattered around the town.
If you want to see the operation of the fish auctions, in the Palamós fish market you can live it every afternoon (from Monday to Friday) or buy fresh fish from 16 to 20h in the Municipal Market. (Learn more at: https://museudelapesca.org/en/ )
